Can I use a Flux Wire Welder to weld floor pans?
I’ve got rotted out floor pans on my 1966 Mustang and I’ve decided on taking on the task of restoring my own car. I’ve never had any experience with welding, but with little direction, I can learn how to. I am on a budget and gathered up the courage to weld the floor pans myself. Anyhow, I found this 90 amp Flux Wire welder at Harbor Freight Tools for $99. I would like to know if this particular welder would do the job. I know there are Mig Welders that would do a better job, as i heard, but like i mentioned earlier, i am on a budget. I would really appreciate any feedback.
Yes it might do the job but ,I ‘ve done this type of work many times and I prefer a mig with argon mix gas. A lot cleaner weld and no ugly slpatter that a gasless leaves. Either way I would reccomend you practice a lot on parts other than your car before you dive in. Good luck.
