How to make cash using my skills?

i am a qualified diesel fitter and a well experienced good mig welder i can do few types of welding including arc tig and gas, i have my own mig welder and would like to make a living or even a regular wage of

some sort by using my skills i have for the last 5 years been driving diggers and dumpers but as due to the current financial economical
climate stands i am gona be outa work for a long time and would like

to use the skills i have to make a tidy wage instead of bein a scrap merchant or bumming off the dole how would i go about it i have all the tools i need but dont have a garage i have a small shed but can’t do a hell of alot in there as it gets crouded easily though i can do some

things in there and would suprise some what i can do in there i have a full uk driving licence so i suppose i could rent a place but would be 2 much of a risk till i got at least a handfull of customers any ideas

Your main problem is there isn’t much demand for anything to do with construction, metal working etc. at the moment.
It’s the same all over Europe and most of the world unfortunately.

The only growth industries that might be of any use to you at the moment are offshore wind parks and ocean power projects. Even the oil boom has pretty much gone into decline.

I assume you would want to stay local (as we all do), but starting your own business even with your own garage is very risky at the moment because of high energy costs etc.

I would advertise in all the local papers and look for papers/magazines for engineering and hope you come up lucky.
