Drove away with gas nozzle and they’re charging me $800 anything I can do to bring it down?

Why are they charging me so much? 200 I would’ve paid right there and then, but $800? seems to me like an exaggeration, they said is because I broke a little valve inside the hose, is it possible to just buy the part somewhere else? who makes these pumps?

Specialty parts can’t be purchased at the corner hardware store, and they likely have to have a certified service person do the repair. You damaged an expensive piece of equipment, sorry but you are stuck with the bill.

The person who suggested checking the price against prices at gaspumpheaven neglected to tell you it would be meaningless as those are reproduction parts not certified or intended for gasoline use, they are non-functional.
