Question about mounting a 42″ plasma TV on the wall?

I’m not the handiest person in the world and I will have someone helping me do this, but I wanted to see if anyone has done this and what the do’s and don’ts were. What problems have other people ran into. I didn’t get the cheapest of the most expensive about $200. Its one that will not be stuck in one place it comes out to 20″ off wall and tilts and goes left and right.

Any advice would be appreciated … thanks!

fist you need a stud finder find out where the suds are. Then a hole saw to run the wires in the wall. You are not supposed to run the power cord in the wall but many people do. For code you should run a new plug behind the set. I recommend higher rather then lower then the mount easier for wire management. Also you may run into a vertical fire block usually right around 48 inches from the ground, If you do, you have to either bring the wire out above it or cut a hole above and below and drill it then have the drywall repaired and painted. Make sure the mount is tightend before you try to lift the TV and hook it up then hook up all the cables HDMI ect. before you power up the set.
