what is a curriculum for hyperactive kids? ?
What is a curriculum for a super hyperactive boy, who can’t sit for 5 minutes if his life depended on it. He can’t sit through games, to color, a T.V. show, can’t sit to write or do math, or play with k’nex even if he wants to.
If a book catches his eye he HAS to read the whole series without stopping and he gets really upset when the series is over. There’s no way to get him to read any books that are not a series and I really need to get other subjects in. It’s really hard to find books that catches his eye. He’s read all the Magic tree house and Percy Jackson & The Olympians Series. I want to find a hands on curriculum that can catch his eye in the same way the books did.
He’s 6 and has a 7th grade reading level and is in singapore 3A.
I have supplied you with a web page that has links for children with Learning Disabilities which includes hyperactive kids. I would also suggest you find a good testing organization and have your child tested. This will give you some idea of what you need to do to keep him focused. I know some disagree with this, but as a former Christian School teacher I would say that this helped me help students that needed special attention. Hope this will give you some encouragement.
