Mig Wire Tig

I have welded for seven years now, but nevr any thing thinner than around 1/4″. I have a weld test today, Mig?

and tig, I need to know a good starting point for the voltage and wire speed for the mig. I believe it will be .035 maybe smaller. Not looking for any hotshot speed just need to not blow through the first piece. Thanks

I can help you with tig but its been too long for mig for me to do you any good.
The rule of thumb for tig is 1 amp per thousandth thickness. (.035″ = 35 amps) this is a good starting point. It changes for the type of metal (ss, inconel,cobalt,mild steel, aluminum a different story) but is still close to the 1amp/thousandth. Try these sites they may help. Good luck!
