How to connect Coby (I guess) MP3 playa to my comp, 2 big?

Ok, well my friend paid this friend of his $15 bucks for this MP3 player, which looks like an old Coby or something, but his computer got fried from lightning, so he wants me to take the other dude’s songs off, because it’s all like, heavy metal junk, and my friend doesn’t like that stuff. So, it has this cap thing, it itself connects to the computer through a USB connector, not like my iPod with a dock. And my computer have a lil’ shield thing around my USB ports that flips up, but only to a 90 degree angle. And that is not enough, because this MP3 player is a bit bigger than that. Now, I have 4 more (I have 2 on the front) USB ports on the back, the keyboard is taking up one, and my mouse is taking up another. I’ve connected the player, but nothing happens. Like, it doesn’t connect or something. Do players and USB devices not connect back there? If so, that sucks. I really need to get this done, or else my friend will be mad lol. Seriously, anyone? Thanks in advance!

It should work on any of the USB plugs, look online for the maker of the mp3 players website, perhaps there is a driver or a program you need to download to gain access to the mp3 player.
