Question about a Stick Welder…. I found 2 on ebay. . . ..?

ok ,my boyfriend wants a stick welder.. but im low in $$.. his birthday is coming up so I checked on ebay and i found two… one is $62 and the other is about $50 (i didnt add S&H yet..) anyway.. what do u think is betteR? which is WORTH its price? i mean its got the same volts, WHY is the 2nd one so cheap??

The more expensive one is refurbished, which is good. This means it was returned to a store and the factory checked it over and fixed anything if anything was broken. But it only has a 90-day warranty. The cheaper one was used once and is “in like new condition”, which is the seller’s opinion. However, it has a five-Year Warranty. Sellers usually are good about the condition, and personally I would go for the cheaper one (long warranties are good). However, your best bet is to email the cheaper seller and ask how long he’s had the welder for, and subtract that from the five-year warranty, and then compare the warranties. If he’s had it for six years, then there’s no warranty, and you should get the more expensive one. If he’s had it for six months, that’s the one to go with.
