Welding Torch Cutting

Help with the ace propane torch.?

Two things. First, i have a $45 propane torch from ace, model AC-10 and i was wondering if you could weld or at least cut through metal.
Second, if you could interchange the propane canisters. It came with one, but when i run out could i use the coleman lantern propane canisters? thanks.

first off, you can use any type of gas with that torch… mapp, propane or acetalene.
but no you will not be able to weld or cut with this torch.
to weld or cut you need to have an “oxy-acetalene” type torch with 2 hoses and a special head to do cutting.
welding is limited to how hot the torch needs to get to “melt” the material and allow the welding rods to flow into the welded materials.
the type of torch you have is for soldering things like copper plumbing pipes and not for welding.
