When you buy an Ipod Touch can the one year apple warranty be extended?

I think the warranty comes with some 90 day warranty and some One Year Warranty for free. I have a credit card and when you buy something with it, you get an extra years warranty. Will this work with the ipod warranty or not? Thanks In advance
